55em9600 LG Update

Posted by admin on February 27, 2012 in 55em9600 LG Information |

Still no official word on the exact release date of the 55em9600 by LG, the winner of the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show’s prestigious “Best in Show” category. Boasting an ultra thin design and a nearly unnoticeable bevel size, this HD marvel will come with the cutting edge OLED technology and enhanced 3-D imagery. The manufacturer beat out similar products by Samsung and Sony to win this year’s top prize.

But with all of the talk and anticipation, LG is being hush-hush about many questions surrounding the release of the largest screen that offers the OLED technology in the United States. Rumor has the debut for the 55em9600 LG will be released late third quarter of 2012 but as with many electronics, there will most likely be a slight delay. Whether it be delays in distribution to the market or just hype to enhance the mystique, a more likely launch will appear closer to December of 2012. In addition to the date of release mystery, many excited consumers want to know how much they will have to dig out of their pockets to obtain one. And furthermore where?

Rumors have been circulating through the industry that the price of this electronics show champion could challenge the ten thousand dollar range. Most fear a price point such as this will definitely put it out of reach of the average consumer. But can today’s economy support such a pricey luxury given the competitive nature of the market? One would think that a tv priced like an automobile may have some sales challenges. Others in the industry have speculated a price between fifty nine and seventy five hundred dollars. Most likely it will be in the upper of that range. Still a 55 inch screen can be had for less moolah but considering the advanced lack of thickness in the screen and weight of only around 15 pounds, no competitors compare to the impressive stats at this time.

Tradition would lend that by the time this tv hits the retail environment on a large scale, the price will be moderated to appeal to the larger consumer base. That being said, the 55em9600 LG will surpass the competition and reign supreme in the market for a little while. I am already setting aside my 3-D blu-rays and cooking the popcorn. I guess I will have to wait anxiously like everyone else. Keep checking back for more updates and releases soon. Meanwhile other 3-D tvs can be researched in the margin of the blog.

55EM9600 LG OLED HDTV Is the Talk of the CES

LG 55EM9600 150x150 55EM9600 LG OLED HDTV is the Talk of the CES

55em9600 LG

It’s official.  The talk of the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show is the the 55EM9600 LG OLED HDTV.  This is the largest OLED screen to date and is scheduled for retail release third quarter of 2012.  Fifty five inches is the size of this behemoth and it features organic light-emitting diode display technology which is commonly believed to be the future in ultra high definition for years to come.  It boasts a stunning million:one ration for pixels and combines a four color (red, blue, green, and white) sub-pixel system while other competitors use three.  (no white)

Perhaps the most impressive statistics about the 55em9600 LG is are its dimensions.  The screen itself is only 4 mm thick!  So thin in fact that the plugins for the device feature an entirely separate console.  The bezel, or border, is only 1 mm thick.  What this does is place the emphasis of the viewer entirely on the screen itself.  There are no large borders around the screen so it imitates true window viewing in the closest possible way.

Every January in Las Vegas, NV, electronics manufacturers from around the world meet to show off their new and upcoming technologies.  Some make it to retail, others do not.  CNET ranks the different technologies based on the presentation at the show.  Although other electronics are available, the main star of the show has always been the latest in what is coming for video entertainment.  Of course, televisions top that list.  For 2012, CNET ranked the 55EM9600 LG as the show winner for top television.  WIll it come to market?  Most feel this is the future for tv and european markets already feature OLED HDtv’s in smaller sizes.  LG says they intend to release for retail sale in the third quarter of 2012.  Price range is unknown at this time but most expect it to be well above $5000.   More information will be coming soon about the CNET Consumer Electronics Show winner…. the 55em9600 LG OLED HDTV.  Check back soon for additional updates.
